That's it, I'm sold, where do i tick the box? It has been decided that University students should run the country, nay why stop there give them the world. Why you ask? because University students, in case you have little experience with them, know everything about everything and have all the answers to all the problems facing our little blue/green orb floating in space.
Yes that's right, Uni Students of today can rebuild the ozone layer, reduce carbon emissions, cure world hunger, solve 3rd world poverty & all that before they get out of bed (which is lucky because most are so bone idle they just don't bother getting out of bed some days).
Yesterday saw me in one of my normal heated debates with my step-daughter, a being of idealistic virtues at best, and during our discourse i realised where we have all been going wrong. We wait too long, we wait till students have left university to elect them to government. We should act now! Dump the ruling party we have now and appoint a ton of second year uni students to run the country, because they know everything. Soon after when Spud the Spotty Eco Friendly vegetarian prime minister takes charge we will all live in Utopia where we will have the most perfect existence mankind has ever known. Unfortunately we must appoint students to positions which are unrelated to their studies or else we risk destroying the Nirvana they will create with a modicum of common sense.
Our main topic was born out of a new law in our state which says domestic cats may not be allowed out after dark. This has been introduced to help protect indigenous wildlife. Now i raise the point that nature is in itself a cruel mistress who punishes the weak and rewards the strong, but always keeping a balance of sorts, ergo cats hunt mice this is a simple fact, this to me means the cat has evolved to be a superior species to the mouse, but alas i am wrong. In my "simplistic" view of an "uneducated layman" i mistakenly thought that evolution was the basic rule of survival of the fittest. No, no, no because i didn't go to university i couldn't possably understand the complexity of how, wait your going to love this, the mouse is disadvantaged by mankind! apparently had we not introduced the domestic cat into Micky Mouse's environment he would have evolved more????? Now call me stupid (lots of people do) but i was under the impression that evolution was always a forced event, something changes in natures balance which a species has to adapt too those that can (the strong) survive, those that cant (the weak) perish. I am informed by the omnipotent one that i am wrong, and further that man is not the most evolved species on the planet that award goes to insects....
Now maybe I'm uneducated, but i don't see to many Ladybugs armed with semi automatics hunting humans. I'm sorry but the dominant species, the pinnacle of evolution must be the one that has evolved to deal with all of it's potential predators & no species has done that better than man, our only flaw being that by evolving we have become our own natural predator.
alas again i digress from the point of my poor mood this morning and that is the assumption made by students that they know everything, that if you don't have a PHD then its amazing that you can walk and breath at the same time.... just as clothes make'th not the man, a certificate does not make you wise, it just makes you arrogant.
